The Discovery
Rev. Ray Geide has taught the Bible for three decades and studied it even longer. Part of his teaching has been to ask what the Bible's words mean. His questioning always turns up the same result. Even though people think they know the words, they don't.
For many years he explained these words to his students but eventually he realized that knowing a good definition is no substitute for using the right word.
The sad truth is that most Bible words (words like grace, faith, and justify) are outdated words from the Middle Ages that actually hide the message of the Bible.
One day Ray started wondering, "What if these Bible words were replaced with their twenty-first century equivalents? Would that unlock the meaning of the Bible?" He had not seen any other versions do this. He rewrote a few verses using this concept and was amazed at the results. Using the right words brought these Bible verses into the twenty-first century.
Knowing he was onto something, Ray started using this concept to write a revolutionary new Bible version, the Breakthrough Version.
